The city of Havana, Cuba
Havana, the largest Caribbean city was one of the seven towns established in 1514 by Diego Velasquez, and then five years later moved to its current site at the mouth of the harbour. This gallery attempts to show the colonial heritage and beauty of this exotic city. Havana has some great churches, mansions, palaces, museums and the oldest theatre in the Americas.

The pictured is a night view of the Bay of Havana taken from the top floor of the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. The sky looks strange with the clouds sailing across the full moon. The flames and smoke from a distant oil refinery add the feeling of mystery and romance to the scene.
