Religious icons

Stock Photography By Tyrrell Mendis

Throughout history, various religious cultures have been inspired or supplemented by images, both in two dimensions and three. The degree to which such images are used, and their functions, depend on the tenets of a given religion in a given place and time, whether they are for instruction or inspiration, treated as sacred objects of veneration or worship, or simply applied as ornament.
