11. Zoisite mineral specimen. Ruby Zoisite or Anyolite gem specimens. Ruby Zoisite or 'Anyolite' is a massive variety of the mineral zoisite. It is technically a metamorphic rock composed of green zoisite crystals intergrown with black hornblende and ruby crystals. It forms in the orthorhombic crystal system and is a silicate of calcium and aluminium.

14. Amethyst crystal cave, goede half. Amethyst geode half, 54cm. Amethyst is a member of the gem-quality quartz mineral group that forms terminated crystals. Amethyst crystals form largely in pegmatitic and hydrothermal deposits, with smaller crystals found in sedimentary and metamorphic rock. They are found widespread across the globe.

19. Red Spinel gemstone on white background. Spinel belongs to a group of minerals which crystallize in the cubic (isometric) system. Its general formula is MgAl2O4 (magnesium, aluminium oxide). Spinel is quite hard at 8 on the hardness scale.

24. Violet Fluorite octahedron on white background. Fluorite is calcium fluoride, also known as ‘flurospar’. Fluorite is often pastel or light in tone, but some specimens can be rich or dark with colour zoning or banding. Fluorite forms in the cubic crystalline system.

25. Turquoise rough. Turquoise rough on white background

26. Titanite gemstones. Titanite gemstones and crystal specimens on white background

27. Green Sapphire gemstone on white background. Green sapphire is composed of aluminium oxide like ruby and other sapphires. It crystallises in the trigonal system and has a hardness of 9. Its density is generally 4, yet can vary from between 3.90 and 4.1 and its refractive index values are similar to ruby at between 1.760 and 1.774.
