Maya Bay, Phi Phi Island
The exotic Island of Phi Phi Leh is home to the beautiful 'Maya Bay', location for the hit movie 'The Beach'. The water here is a vivid pure aqua hue, tending towards aqua green or blue depending on the time of the day. These photos were taken in the early morning with polarised filter to capture the depth of intensity of this site. This is truly one of the most amazing locations of the Phi Phi archipelago, in the Andaman Sea. Once immersed in the waters of Maya Bay you may never want to leave.
Aboriginal life is multi-faceted and varied. Between cultural commitments to look after country and family demands in terms of hunting and educating the young about the bush, many people spend much time away from communities. Hunting takes up time and many areas are still rich with wildlife.
Inside Passage, North of Vancouver island
The north of Vancouver island in British Columbia, Canada is a rugged and remote area. The town of Port Hardy is the starting point for the Inside Passage ferry. Near Port McNeill is an interesting native community (Alert Bay)which is the site of the U'mista Cultural centre. The area is also well known for the opportunities to see orcas and other interesting wildlife.
Floriade in Canberra
Floriade is the biggest flower festival in Australia, a spectacular celebration of spring, set in Canberra's Commonwealth Park as a commemoration of Australia's bicentenary and Canberra's 75th birthday. Each year the festival has a different theme and attracts thousands of local, interstate and overseas visitors.
Berlin - German Capital
Berlin is the capital city of Germany with a population of 3.4 million. It is a major centre of culture, politics, media, and science in Europe. The Berlin Wall between East and West Berlin was built in 1961 completely separating the two halves of the cit until the wall was breached on 9 November 1989. In October 1990 the East and West Germany were reunified as the Federal Republic of Germany, and Berlin became the German capital.
These limestone caves are the main attraction at Borenore. Just a short drive from Orange, these caves and picnic grounds are a must do. Arch cave is a short walk near the picnic ground. Take your torch and view the stalagmites, stalactites. A 3.5km walk along Boree creek trail takes you to Verandah Cave, a large limestone overhang. You may be lucky to see a platypus or many of the bird species that inhabit the area. The eastern bent-winged bat hibernate in Tunnel Cave.

Austria at a glance
There is plenty to enjoy in Vienna, the capital of Austria; monumental buildings such as the opera house, imperial palace complex of Schonbrunn or baroque Belvedere palace and museum with countless paintings and sculptures; there are also art exhibitions, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. South of Vienna in the Danube River valley is a sacred destination, the Melk Abbey. Both the valley (Wachau) and the abbey are considered UNESCO world heritage site.
Beijing, China, host city for the 2008 Olympic Games, is also a treasure trove of cultural and architectural delights.
Tlingit and other totem poles
Tlingit totems identify a clan, tell a story, are memorials, or celebrate an event. The genealogy pole, usually erected in front of the house, indicates the clan of the mother. Figures on the poles are akin to family crests. Totemic symbols are usually animals � bear, eagle or killer whale � that once affected the destiny of the tribe.
High Dynamic Range photography (HDRI or HDR) is a technique used in photography to reproduce a greater dynamic range of luminosity than possible using standard photographic techniques. HDR images can represent a greater range of luminance levels found in real-world scenes, from direct sunlight to faint nebula. It is often achieved by capturing and then combining different exposures of the same subject matter through a built-for-purpose application. It's not everyone's taste, but I love it!

Without the interference of the human animal Nature continually creates beauty year round from what is available to us all: the earth and water, wind and rain, snow and ice, the seasons, and the passage of time.
Since I moved to the Nambucca Valley, I have spent many hours enjoying the views of and the activities on the Nambucca River. My home town of Macksville offers stunning views of the broad river and the mountains beyond, while the town of Nambucca Heads situated on the estuary of the river is one of the most beautiful settings I have ever seen. These two towns and the nearby towns of Bowraville and Scotts Head make up the community of the Nambucca Valley.

Farms, back yards, markets, super markets, bush tucker, food groups. Colours, shapes, textures & patterns.
Birds - Pacific Baza.
There are two Pacific Bazas - Aviceda subcristata - photographed in the country area of North Queensland, Australia and shown here. The first, an immature bird, was perched on a tree branch, under the canopy of leaves, eating a grasshopper-like insect it had caught. Nearby, both parents observed the young bird and watched intently as it tried eating the tiny morsel. The other bird was one of the adult Baza, sitting on a tree branch, partly hidden by leaves, observing its young offspring.
Motocross riders in action.
Motocross is a type of extreme sport, physically demanding and held in all-weather conditions. Races are held on off-road circuit with natural obstacles. Action images, taken on sport events in Astbury and Warmingham tracks near Manchester and Stoke-on-trent, England as part of Cheshire North West Championship. Beaches of the NSW Mid North Coast
The laid back lifestyle of the NSW Mid North Coast is exemplified in the way so many of its citizens enjoy the multitude of beaches. Surfing, fishing, boating, swimming or just walking in quiet contemplation are all offered to both young and old residents of the coast. Day by day the beaches change with tides, seasons and weather. Sometimes you may be delighted by the sparkle of sun on waves; other times the skies may be moodily overcast. Always there will be inspirational light effects.
Macquarie Island Wildlife
Macquarie Island is just a speck in the vast southern ocean but it is home for an incredible number of birds and animals. There are four species of albatross that breed on the island; Wandering, Grey Headed, Black Browed and Light-Mantled Sooty Albatross. There are four penguin species; Gentoo, King, Rockhopper and Royal. Plus there's the Elephant Seals and Antarctic Fur Seals and numerous itinerant visitors who come and go throughout the year.

Drought - Yeldulknie Weir, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia
The Yeldulknie Weir is located approximately 5 kilometres out of Cleve on Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. This weir was the water supply for Cleve and the surrounding areas but is now dry due to the great Australian drought.

Cornwall's amazing landscape
Cornwall is a county in south-west England. Its mining and fishing industries have declined in recent years and tourism is now the major industry. The Eden Project is an environmental wonderland with its biomes full of exotic plants attracting thousands of visitors annually while Lands End is one of the most famous places in England. Its lighthouse, set on a small island off the coast, is also a spectacular attraction.

A journey from Darwin to Adelaide gives travellers the opportunity to experience Australia’s heart first hand, where the spinifex dotted red earth dominates. Here are some photographs of some of the highlights along the way.
Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town has many tourists sights. A trip out to Cape Point will take you along the engineering feat of the Chapmans peak road. Drop into Boulders beach where you can see penguins. The Cape Point is a very windy location. In the vercinity are baboons, ostrich and other animals. A visit to the cape would not be complete without a visit to the wineries.
Eco tourism in Kaikoura
The beautiful town of Kaikoura on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand is a veritable treasure trove for those interested in larger forms of sea life - whales, Southern Fur Seals and dolpins to name a few. A deep sea trench near to shore brings an abundance of marine life for viewing by boat or helicopter or eating - Kaikoura translates as 'meal of crayfish'. A turquoise sea, ice-capped mountains and black beaches provide an amazing visual backdrop for eco or family tourists alike.
Buildings - Ruins.
The stone ruins of Kanyaka Sheep Station in the Southern Flinders Ranges, South Australia, have been standing since the late 1800's. Pioneers built sheep shearing sheds, woolsheds, kitchen and bunkhouse (workers quarters) facilities with stone taken from the property.
Palm Beach to Whale Beach oceanswim
The Palm Beach to Whale beach swim is an iconic ocean swim set in stunning surrounds. Swimmers battle the swell at Palm beach and then swim a 2.7km course to the next bay, Whale beach. There are nearly always shore dumpers at Whale beach so the skill is to avoid them and body surf into the finish line.
Farm Country Grain Harvest
These images capture the activity on the Canadian prairies as the members of the farming community toil to bring in the crop they have nurtured all summer long. It is easy to capture images of men and women on harvesting equipment . It is not so easy to depict the stresses, joys and mental anguish felt by the community during this busiest of times.

Female Indigenous rangers undertake a variety of land management work and are often involved with the collection and cultivation of native foods and seeds. Aboriginal female rangers are also deeply involved with education and scientific programs.

By Land we see an old brick farm house ruin with a flock of sheep inside, using the old building as a shelter against the winter chill. By Sea we see images of a Skate-fish swimming in the crystal clear waters of Spencer Gulf in South Australia, along with some sunny day landscape scenes of a jetty and boats moared in a local harbour.
Tradesmen at work
This series of photographs shows tradesmen and equipment at work in the construction industry including environmental installations such as solar panels and wind farms. All photographs containing recognisable people have model releases.
Aboriginal Life Issues
Like all Australians, Aboriginal people are confronted by scores of issues daily. However, some issues really grab the attention of people on remote communities - funerals are one thing, also voting on polling day. When an Aboriginal person is elected to Parliament, many from the community and direct family come to town to celebrate in their own unique way. Religion is also a strong influence in many communities.
