Hoverfly, 'Melangyna viridiceps' close-up on flower

'Melangyna viridiceps' is an Australasian hoverfly, and one of the two most common hoverflies in Australia, alongside Simosyrphus grandicornis. The adult flies feed on pollen and nectar which they gather from flowers, where as the larvae feed on aphids.
